Resume Design

While you are developing your resume, paying careful consideration towards the overall design and layout of your resume. The way you present information about yourself speaks highly about who you are and the value you can add to your dream company. Icons and infographics can give your design a modern touch. However, it is not encouraged to place a profile photo on your resume. 
The information technology industry holds technical skills and expertise of various programs in high regard, in correlation with a candidate’s overall professional experience. This content should be placed on the first page after your professional summary to further demonstrate how qualified you are for the corresponding position.
Highly technical positions require experience in very specific programs that eliminate several candidate during the preliminary search. If someone doesn’t have all of the required systems/experience, they are placed in a secondary grouping behind individuals that meet all of the required systems listed on the job description. From this primary grouping, candidates are further reviewed for further consideration.
While you are laying out your resume, make sure that all of your technical skills are listed so that you are not overlooked during the initial review process. Refrain from adding hobbies and volunteer roles that do not add value to the industry of the company you wish to work for.
